Stingray like to get abuse?

Sign in to disble this ad
I don't know why out of all my bass Fender Jazz, Warwick and Musicman. The stingray is the only bass i really have to abuse/hard digging when playing to get good tone.

When I use my Fender and Warwick i normally play with loud volume but light touch to get good tone but the Stingray is complete different. When I light touch the stingray it sound thin and clanky without much defination ........ but when I turn down the volumn on the bass but digging it very very hard, then the tone is completely different and i really like it. Get all that punchy bass and good low mid to cut in while it kept that little clank but with good bass and defination ........

Think is a stingray thing? or is just purely is my technique problem? But i really like abusing the stingray to get that tone lol

??? no idea. I don't need to abuse my Stingrays to get a good sound out of them. At all.

IME P basses are the same way. Beat on them with your hands or slam at the strings with a heavy pick. If you want more punch and fullness with a lighter touch, put some chromes on it.
