Quick question (don't want to highjack your thread): does anyone know if Musicman can roast the neck on this model? Not keen on the classic ray..

About the pickgaurd, I haven't really decided and I'm certainly keeping the black but a little variety is always good.
Basso22, I don't think Musicman are very good at all with any special requests. Just try calling them and asking to buy a preamp or a neck or something. I'm sure you could find a luthier to do it for you though.

I checked the wiring, and bridge grounds and it all looked fine. I'm not really worried about it though because it's in mint condition for a 10 year old bass. |

Whatever the reason there is a definite difference, more so than 'the same but no mid control'. To my ears the 2 band is subtler and darker, less in-your-face than the 3 band. A lot of people think the 2-band is superior because it's the original sound. Me? I just wanted something different as my Ray 5 has the 3 band eq.
Hey Joe, love the new band. Last time I saw you, you were slapping away on a custom-looking 5 string and doing vocals yourself. White pearl has its merits mind.
