Is a stock epi thunderbird pro good enough?

Im a new member to this forum and want to hear peoples opinions on my setup.
Im expecting my Epiphone Thunderbird pro 4-string in vintage sunburst in the mail and i wonder if its good enough as is or if it needs some upgrades

i have been playing bass on and off for about 4-5 years and currently play in a hard rock/metal band and we tune in drop C
so the bass is like this: C G C F im getting better and better and im practicing regularly. still not able to play advanced things like for example tool and primus bass lines but im getting there. i play both with a pick and with my fingers and occationally slap (badly)

im gonna run the thunderbird into my MXR M 80 Bass DI plus and straight into the PA at band practice and gigs to get a little control over tone. i prefer to keep my setup simple with as few pedals ap possible but contemplate buying a tuner.

any opinions on what kind of sounds i can get out of this? what the bass and pedal will be like?

im very excited about picking up my new bass!
im currently playing metal on a cheap morgan fretless that i exchanged for a bag of weed so not quite optimal..
