Smile Stock Fender Bass Parts?

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought a used MIM Fender Precision Bass Special Deluxe Series this afternoon and I love it. I don’t know what year the bass is yet - I think I saw a Fender year identifier page where you enter the serial # - does anyone have a quick link and I’d like to replace some pickup screws and etc where is a good place to get stock Fender Bass Parts?

Go to Fenders website, choose support on top. Then go to product dating. I think you'll find what your looking for.

Many GCs have a parts wall with 'GEARHEAD' parts - which is Fender's official purveyor of after market parts for their gear - both Fender and Squier.

Be careful if you want to stay period-correct as screws vary be years and model and a real gear head can spot the wrong screws from the 20th row in the audience.

Head sizes, screw diameters and the actual Phillips-type are all different and not really as interchangeable as they may appear.

Oh - they'll fit, but they bugger up the wood or the parts they hold on the bass.

Then there's the finish - bright metal. Some are real chrome, others are polished nickel and others are stainless steel, etc.

Thank you for the Fender year link info - and yeah, the screws are a little stripped and rusty - maybe I should leave it as is. Thank you.
