Strange Viola Bass 411...

Anyone know anything about this model. I've searched high and low and cannot find a single kb of information. Seller says the headstock reads "Regent." He says it is immaculate with a good neck/trussrod and it sounds "unique" ... whatever that means.

He's looking for $100. Good buy? It looks pretty cool...

What sayeth yous guys?

Reminds me of a Univox beasty. Very pretty!

$100 is a good deal if it sounds good. My $75 Hofner knock off rules.

Univox was my first though too. $100 sounds ok if the electronics work.

It's a Japanese model from about 1967, also sold under the Domino and Conqueror brands and probably made at the Matsumoku factory. Neat greenburst!

You can't really go wrong for 100 bucks. Let us know how it plays once you get it!

Regent made Violin basses in the mid-60s. They're from Japan. Probably sounds pretty decent. I'd go for it. $100 is a steal providing it's in working shape.
