No, you were right. The saddle alignment on yours is much more typical of a well-intonated bass. Not always, of course, but OP's is the exact opposite, which is very unusual IME and kind of a red flag.

I'd have someone who understands set ups take a look and check the intonation.

Agreed. Blue is a problem instrument color, which is why it's usually a difficult sell unless it's forced (remember my "Law of Blue Guitars" from years back).

If you have any really conspicuous solid color, design practice dictates neutral trim, and I'd bet virtually all designers would say white (not parchment, if possible) pickguard here.

I don't know that MOTO is ever the answer to anything, but white MOTO would work better than tortoiseshell here, certainly.

I have a mirrored guard on my blue P but I prefer the white over the tort. I also vote for white pearl!

Hey guys, pretty much the same question... would a tortoise pickguard look cool on a lake placid blue precision bass with a rosewood neck ?

I love tort guards, but I think that white looks better with lake placid blue.

I have the exact same bass, Agave Blue I believe they call it. Came with white but I put on a tort. Went back to white although a pearloid would look great.

I think a mirror pickguard would look great on that.

Same here. Personally, I'd go with black or maybe pearl.

I also prefer the tort of those two, however a mirror pickguard would look snazzy

I like the tort. If you don't want it, I'll buy it! Tough to find a used brown tort these days.

I'm not a fan of white pickguards as a rule, but I think it suits your bass. I also like the white pearl idea, fwiw.

White pearloid. I have a black Jazz Bass that I put a black pearloid p/g that just makes that bass pop. Check it out.

I almost always perfer a black guard on a bass when most people would put a tort gaurd on. White bass, black guard. Red bass, blackguard. When you talk about pastel colors then its mint, or white. Sunburst is the only bass I see work well with tort, but I would still do black or gold aluminum. Just never been a fan of tort.

Black with a white trim. Try to do it MSPaint or something. I think it'd look killer!

I would personally throw a mint green (vintage white) pickguard on it.
