Telecaster bass with Jazz Neck?

I've been playing this bass off and on without realizing what exactly it is. It has a telecaster type body with the fat humbucker at the neck but the neck says Jazz Bass. What gives? The strings don't go through the body but there is the neck plate with 3 screws. On top of this, it is painted in a deep blue green color. Finally, at the bridge there are two screw holes that may have been filled prior to painting. It suspects me to believe that it was repainted. Opinions and feedback are much welcomed.

It's a 70's telecaster bass or a copy with a Fender pup. Looks like a period correct jazz neck was installed. Maybe the original neck was destroyed in a fall or failed due to warping. Some of the tele bass necks developed cracks at the e-string tuning machine.

First of all, I want to compliment you on your cool and unique bass. I agree that it appears to be a Telecaster body with Jazz neck from the same period. Refinished? Likely, but that's no big deal. I own an original 1972 Tele bass and it is heavy. (But I don't care.)

Thanks for your comments. I wanted to set it up right with the action. Its too high. Any links on what I should adjust including measurements. How close should the pickups be?
