I know thomann.de of course.
As an example, even for the non US Fenders:
The Sting signature bass, US street price: 899 $
Thomann/Germany (lowest prices in europe): 1,330 $
I will, look for MIJ Fenders, too...

I know the guy in that video you postet personally.
He is a well known Blues and Soul guitar player, not only in my hometown, but in Germany.
But Greg only sells guitars, no basses - and to my opinion, the prices of the guitars he sells are too high.
Thx for the help.

But really - that Sadowsky looks awesome, doesn't it?
Man, what a bass!
I use to play modern sounds in the band (Classic Funk, Soul), but for my other love, the traditional blues-sounds or "creepy, trashy, and Tom Waits is too clean music" I'd like to have a very traditional but good sounding bass.
I want the simpliest information of bass that I know: the 55 P-bass.
The Fender Sting signature bass would be perfect - without the nameplate on the neck.
I'm not sure, but wasn't Fender producing a similar bass some years ago, not as a signature bass?
Thx, pal!

Låkland also makes the single coil model; Check the specs on http://www.lakland.com/44-51.htm
But all of these instruments will be more expensive than the Fender Sting signature. Which is, as already indicated, a very well built Japanese Fender.
The average store price in Europe is around €1000,- In the USA it will cost you around $850,-. But shipping and VAT added, it's price in total will be also around €1000,-.
At least, I figure the rules in Germany are the same as in the Netherlands. Believe me, I have figured it out with several instruments for the US vs NL.
There is an ad in Belgium for a second hand Sting sig: http://www.2dehands.be/muziek/muziek...en%2Fbasgitaar
The seller is a trustworthy person according to fellow bassplayers from Belgium on the dutch Basgitaarforum.
Good luck!

Otherwise the Squiers would have been to the TS liking.

You'll have a bass kinda like a real one, but without paying for the Fender name.
But wait, that's not all...
Then you can post all about how your cheapo copy is now better than an actual Fender. Cheapo copy for the win! |

And I'm looking for real replikas - not for Squier models with the same body shape but completely different specs.
No others ideas? I would like to have one...:-)
The Dillion looks nice.
Any experiences with it?
Ah - by the way: thx for your help, guys. | I would put the Dillion at about the quality level of the Squier. The bridge is the same as used on the Bach.
The neck on the Dillion is thinner than a normal P-bass. Really nothing like one. I had to address a high fret when I got mine, but the pickup is fine and after a year, I still play it every day. The wood is pine but covered in a very hard, almost plastic finish.
By the way, I also have an MIA Fender. They are NOTHING alike. At all.
I did swap the 2-saddle bridge on my Dillion for a 4-saddle threaded style bridge, for intonation purposes. I haven't modded anything else on it, other than aesthetics. It sounds good, plays good, doesn't sound or play like a Fender.
