Problem #1: poor shieldin' on early '00 MIM Standard Fenders;
Problem #2: never play a bass thru a guitar amp, especially if combo...
The opposite can work: if you need a distorted sound, play the electric guitar thru a distortion stomp, but the guitar doesn't harm no bass amp
The bass can't be covered by a guitar amp, unless it's an acoustic bass (its frequencies bein' close to the ones of acoustic guitars) goin' thru a 15" speaker for acoustic guitars
So, shieldin' problem is easy to fix and it's quite normal on those MIM Fenders, especially at full throttle;
the thing you're playin' thru a (small) guitar combo, simply has to come to an end
Don't worry about the bass, I really think it's everything ok
Don't worry about the guitar amp (it being cheap) but be aware you're gonna burn it!
