The brass saddles are also a change from stock. I prefer brass saddles, though the effect is minimal.

The look will grow on you...Plus if/when you put those Chromes on, the only way you will see the Yamaha will be if you are looking in a mirror. You won't be able to put it down. You are definitely on the right path my friend. Enjoy! | I put The Chromes on yesterday evening and it sounds even better. Still, I'm surprised at how nice it sounded with the factory strings. I wonder what kind they were. Anyway, The Chromes sound nicer & I prefer the feel of the heavier B string. The sound is so deep & rounded, yet some how tight & articulate. Just what I'm looking for in a 5-string. By the way, thanks for your help in that thread I made a couple weeks ago

My fretless 1980's BB1200 needs to have the fingerboard sanded and I have to order a sanding block. Am I right in thinking the radius is 10"?

Still reckon this is the most P bass you can get for the money. Sure a MIM is just a wee bit more expensive, and a Squier is ok if you want the agent orange inch-thick (unevenly applied) gloss on the neck... but the BB424X was built to work!
