Thomas Miller is probably my greatest influence, but sadly, very little is known about him. After Twilight in Olympus he disappeared into thin air; though he did show up in one of their shows recently.
The only pics I have of Thomas are in my special edition first four albums; there is one pic of him live when his bass is partially visible. It's a fretted five string
The body looks very Warwick Thumb-like, there are no pickups in the neck position, but what can be seen of the headstock is not really thumb-like.
As for his tone, although you can hardly tap that fast on a fretless, I believe his sound leans in that direction. It's warm and somewhat muted, yet crisp on the top. I don't know, but his and Randy Coven's sound/playing made me go fretless, and I'm not looking back.
By the way, don't you think this thread should belong to the "Bassists" subforum? Also, if you searched, you might find that this question has been asked, with a few people chipping in
