| | | | To get back on the straplock issue from the previous thread.
I use rubber washers (from the dutch Grolsch beers) only disadvantage is that you can't take the strap off easily. The advantage (imho) is that it doesn't make the strapthingy bigger (seeing with my Tbird pro it's on the back of the body, if I screw in some strap locks, they poke in my stomach xD)

Very low profile. |

| | | Well I can be the first to join the club in the new thread! Just picked up this bird today for $197 bucks...was supposed to be 200, but I bought a drink on the way there!
Came with the case...though it's a little beat up and smells like cats. Not sure if I can even keep the case as I'm allergic to cats, but I'll try febreezing it and cleaning it as best I can. I think the bass could use a good cleaning too. I want all the POs slime off it!
It's not quite a Subaru, but I thought I'd have to have my first photo of the bird be in the true fashion of the Subey post!
This was my previous car...the original crossover 4wheel drive car!
Some Subey love too!
And back on topic. Here are a couple more pics of my bird.
Look forward to getting some playing time with this bass. From what the PO said I believe it's like a 2010. China made. No blemishes in the body really. Tried the strap on it and the neck pointed at like a 45 degree angle toward the ground. I've seen how some of you have relocated the strap location. Hope that helps. |

My dream is to have 3 - black, white, and sunburst. |

All due respect, I'm not asking why you would never use one, just who is. Living in NYC means that either I use one or nothing. But I'm not thrilled with my options. I got a Mono M80 and I can fit the Thunderbird, but feel uneasy about the headstock pushing the top. But I know that if that's not a problem, it's well-protected. Any other options I've found seem like they'll fall apart or offer little protection. There's one on Amazon that's probably crap, and then the Ritter which I could get sent over from the UK. But everything I've seen about Ritter is that they're not very good. Things rip. So is it a sub-standard bag that actually fits the bass properly, or a fantastic bag that can take it but the bass seems a little too snug?
Thanks.

I bought one to use when shipping a Bird to Germany and the owner was very happy with it as well. There are others that come up, but they tend to be from the UK so it costs a bit more when you factor in shipping.

Thanks. | I have the Ritter, which I have on occasion used when ease of transport was important, but I was very, very careful with it. It is a well made gig bag, despite what you have heard (at least mine is), but I worry about the headstock and neck without any protection. The bass fits well, and it is well padded. If you need to use a gig bag the Ritter will do you well (assuming they haven't changed them since I bought mine).
