I'm new here and have a question about my tobias. How do i know if this is pre-gibson? Any help would be very appreciated.

no luck yet on identifying my Tobias bass

Mike Tobias himself didnt know when this one was made so I'm going back to the board about it. The serial number on it is 01074982. I'll include a couple of pics here and see if it fires a brain cell out there. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I could be wrong, but it looks like a Toby Pro (Korean Made Tobias Basses).... Gibson made these overseas & sold them mostly through a website called MusicYo...

Yep, that's what it is.

thanks for the help

Thanks everyone for the help in identifying this bass. It feels pretty good and sounds creamy so I'll just appriciate it for what it is and not worry about the fact that I didnt get an actual tobias made by Mike. Thanks again!

It looks an awful lot like the Toby Pro I have, other than the truss rod cover not saying "Toby Pro" (mine does).

I've seen some not-so-nice things about them here, but honestly I think mine is decently made and looks it pretty. The sound was OK but after finding a good deal on a used 4-band Audere preamp here on TB I think it sounds even better - and it's a lot more versatile now, too.

I've only ever played 5's and I wanted a relatively inexpensive 4-string just so I could try getting comfortable on a 4, so that's how I ended up buying this one. I ended liking it a lot. It's very comfortable to play and it sounds really nice.
