Tony Franklin - Fretted Gold Amber

Surfing the fender site for the millionth time today I came across this Tony Franklin Fretted P Bass in Gold Amber. This has to be one of the best looking basses Fender makes. Anyone have one?!

This is the bass i wanted to get a couple of years back when I had the money, and was shopping for a new Fender. In my situation I had to order online, and unfortunately, for some reason (just wasn't looking in the right place, I think), I couldn't find one. I ended up with an '08 MIA Jazz, which isn't a bad compromise, but to this day, I wish I could have gotten this one.

I have a white TF fretted. It's an incredible bass.

the 3-way pickup switch gives three distinct and useful tones. I much prefer it to the VVT knobs on other P/J basses.

For some reason most music stores don't stock TF's. They are very hard to find.

That's true, I've been looking to try one but never had the chance...

I played one(that looked like the one in the link) a couple of weeks ago.

Overall a killer bass.

Awesome bass, although I have only played the fretless, RW board version. Anyone know exactly what model/brand pickup is at the bridge? One of the sweetest sounding bridge position j's I've ever heard.

I have a Tony Franklin neck that I bought off the ebay guy that parts out Fenders. I've never owned a maple capped neck before, but this has to be the nicest neck I have ever played. Super comfortable and the construction and finish are just perfect.

I have one, looks just like the one in the pic. Great bass, does the PJ blend really well and playability is top notch. Silly that only the fretless has the hipshot D-tuner though, I put one on myself.

I have both the fretted and the fretless versions, and let me just say... they are ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE...

and extremely difficult to put down once you start playing them
