Torn Ibanez bridge
my friend is trying to replace the bridge on an ibanez bass. The area that hold the strings down got ripped apart. He contacted the only authorized dealer for support, but they are notorious for offering ZERO help. So I thought if i could help him by asking the collective bass community on what options he have.

Hard to say with so little information but it sounds like the bridge has broken or come apart. If it was my bass I would probably take it to a tech if possible, if not I would research it online until I felt I had a good grasp of the problem and try to fix it myself.
You can find pretty much any bass part you can think of online and have it delivered to your door. If the wood is damaged to the point that it wont play you need professional help.
Sorry I could not be of more help. Post some pics or more information and I'm sure some of the sharp dudes around here can help.

The tail end of the bridge where u insert the strings is where it broke. It literally rip the metal to shreds.

Contact Ibanez customer service or parts department yourself.

What is "it"? I'm not really understanding how something made of metal just gets ripped apart without some sort of outside force.
