| | | I never use my volume/tone knobs just leave them wide open! So today out come the pots and EMG's I put in a GFS PB Pro PLUS pickup and I'm happy with my sound now. I never liked active Pickups.
Pic of new pup,

You have some fun mods going on here! I've been trying my hand at modding a few SX basses.
Question about this bass:
Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TufGHRyEr2Y
I love that rosewood board with blocks!
Anyway... Any of you have one of these? Seems like I wouldn't mod it too much, but I could see doing my usual PU's and maybe Pre...
Any good sources on the web to get one other than MF?
Cheers, and thanks for reading |

Here's my squire p bass. Standard p and j pickups an missing the vol and tone knobs. Great p tone to.. I can play pretty much anything on it. |

For over 10 years I was delighted with it, then I found a better neck on another bass. I have the best body (presumably a Squier but true provenance unknown) and SQ-series neck I can put together. JF344 and Fralin 5% overwound do the rest. I may try a Hipshot B bridge in brass, which may be an improvement over the Babicz or not. I also have some Hipshot Ultralite cloverleafs that may improve slight dead spots or not. From time to time, I will see if another neck or body improves this pieces-parts bass. I may get the frets Plek'd or dress them myself. I will definitely cut a graphite nut for it. And there isn't much more to do here.

I didn't have the 4 knobs at the time of the picture, but they are standard chrome pbass/musicman knobs
still haven't upgraded the bridge though
