Really tempted to bid on those, I love the Titans but I already have a full spare set in my parts bin...

The vendors needed baseplate measurements and shaft diameter - it's a fender retrofit

I may have posted part numbers etc about 18 months ago - I remember posting the eBay seller

Anyone have any suggestions for stopping neck dive on a Patriot? I have one of the Patriot "custom"s, old pic here:

I added a high-mass bridge (kept the old one in case I want to change it back to stock) without drilling any holes or harming it in any way, and while I notice a small increase in sustain and intonation accuracy, it barely made a difference in the neck diving despite the increase of mass at the end of the body.

Moving strap buttons would be a last resort, I don't want to butcher this excellent bass, and I love everything about the Grover Titan tuners, but when I play on the highest frets the neck dives like crazy and it kills my fretting hand making my playing a little sloppy. Any advice?

swap the tuners for hipshot ultralites?

Wide Strap

Try one of the 4 inch wide leather straps. Eliminates the neck dive caused by a full pound (4 x 4 ounces per tuner) of metal at the end of the neck. I have the same problem with my Foundation S and the wide strap works great.

Or lighter tuners as suggested above. You would probably need to add 3 or 4 pounds of weight to the body to make it balanced.

IIRC, those Babicz bridges are made of aluminum, so it's likely pretty light, even though it's billed as a high-mass bridge... actually, it's billed as a full-contact bridge, not high-mass. I would go with something like a Hipshot A-Style brass bridge to add some more weight. Or, you could add something to the control cavity. I did this with my Foundation 5, as it was neck-diving a bit. A while back I bought a strap that came with 3 lead weights that go in a pocket on the end to prevent neck-dive. The strap was never that comfortable, so I stopped using it, but I glued one of the weights to the back of the cavity cover, and all is well.

I might try the weights in the control cavity method, as I like the tuners (plus hipshot hardware is expensive! Probably would cost half what I paid for this bass) and the bass is pretty lightweight at the body. Thanks for all the suggestions!

+1.

The Levy's suede strap does a good job keeping my Foundation in check.

This was the fix! I was able to squeeze the metal back into the "elephant ear" slot. Then I added super glue and it is strong.

nice color! Matching headstock, or just a reflection?

I think that's the reflection from the sky - I think it's a black headstock

That's a reflection, I'm pretty sure. Only the Plus model had the matching headstock and I think even then it only came with the birdseye maple board. And the Plus models have a Flame Maple top.
