Whether it's US or BXP, the Cirrus is the top of the line Peavey model. |

You can find US Peavey basses in almost new condition on the used market. I've bought 10+ year old Peaveys without a single mark on them. Indistinguishable from new. ebay is obviously the primary source. GC is the second best option - maybe even first best in pricing. |

| | The guy with the dumb username... | | Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: Massachusetts | | | I've never tried the Palaedium bass because of the pickup spacing, in my experience when you have a pickup so close to the bridge and the other so far towards the neck they sound good together but pretty bland or brittle tone when soloed.
Anyone have any sound clips of the Palaedium with just the bridge or just the neck pickup?

IIRC, he came up with the design of that bass some 30+ years ago, and has been using it ever since. I also believe he favors the bridge pickup most of the time, or at least that's what it sounds like to me!

Couple questions. One it has a flat black graphite neck with truss rod adjustment. It doesn't not have any weave to it. Is this normal? Two.... Is there anyway to pull the Cirrus preamp out carefully to get to the pots. It's a tight fit (maybe attached) and I'm afraid I may break it by tugging in it.

Is this normal? | There are 2 types of graphite necks used on these basses. The early version with the weave made by Modulus, and the later version whis has no visible weave. People seem to like the Modulus neck because they like the look of the graphite weave, but both are high quality necks. |

When the gel coat gets a bubble minor separation, they'll look bad --- status, clover, zon, bogart, modulus, schack get bubbles - if they were tinted, you'd probably not notice

Yes you cAn remove the preamp -rest depends on your tools and tAlent
