I don't think they sold well, and when they shut down the custom shop, that was the end of that. |

That place is like a circus that no one bought tickets for. |

I am pretty much only playing my GV and TL5. Plus I have a few TL6's as well if I get tired of playing the fives.

I love the oem but I really would like to have the option of going single coil.
I've been trying out other basses and I haven't played anything that feels as good as my peavey (except for a Bongo, to much$).
Does anyone know off hand what model pickups will drop in with out any routing?
I know I'll probably get the bart pre like in the Lakie 55-02.
Peace, bros.

When I asked GC about the condition, the guitar guy said it was in pretty bad shape. I said, "Thanks, I'll pass." After thinking about it for a couple of minutes I realized this was GC and not Craigslist, and that the condition would still be decent, and that people probably pay extra for the "relic'ing." I told GC to send it over to me, and I just got it a couple of days ago. It's strung with rounds and I'm still getting used to the knobs spinning the opposite way, but I am definitely not going to make this my last Peavey. I'm hooked.... |

I got a EHX Hum Debugger and it eliminates the single coil hum. The sound is so rich with harmonics and so aggressive. I think this was a custom Patriot Custom, since the headstock has a clear natural finish, not red to match the body.

Got it Monday: 1987 Peavey Patriot, with hardly a scratch on it. Estate sale. $165. Deluxe Schaller "elephant ear" tuners, gloss finish all over, and to my surprise, the neck is the same width as my '91 Dynabass and '92 Fury. I thought the Patriots had wider string spacing more like a P-bass. Maybe not all models were alike.
Anyway, great player and great looker.

I told them I owned 3 Peavey USA basses and in spite of my asking several times for prices and a method of payment they just mailed me the parts. They didn't have to do that. Granted they are small inexpensive parts but, I will definitely remember that when purchasing decisions arise in the future. It's rare to find companies with great customer service these days.

Even though I just bought a J/MM Millennium (from the TB classifieds), it was hard to pass up a good deal like the one you got. If I had the dough handy, I would have snapped that up. The Millennium has jumped to the front of my favorite basses that I own.
Enjoy!

EMG is doing me a solid right now on a dead pickup. I bought it used, and it's several years old. No warranty.
No problem. "Send it in, we'll replace it".
Meanwhile, still waiting for a Bartolini pickup and preamp I ordered 3 weeks ago thru my local authorised dealer, and I'll prolly be waiting a few more weeks for it. What a contrast between two companies that are both in the same business.
Sorry for the 'jack job. |

i'll miss it, but I'll get another.
Bought a squier jazz 5, and a Audere to put in it. Just came to the conclusion if I have only 1 bass it needs to be a J.

| | | | Can I join the club? Just picked up this '86 Foundation.
Been looking for one at a good price for a while.
I was walking through a local guitar shop, and there it was.
$160 including tax.
Just what I wanted with a maple fingerboard.
I love the way this thing plays, but I really don't like the glossy finish on the back of the neck. Would it ruin the value if I hit the back of the neck with a scotchbrite to take off the gloss? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
