Pretty, yet seems pricey. FSR indeed! Must have been a short run.

Trouble with MIJ Jazzes, excellent as they are, is that the second buyer gets 'em for half price. IMHO of course, YMMV. Not planning to sell my MIJs anytime soon.

Whoa... How does one go about procuring these Japanese models? These are so much cooler looking than what we get here in the US

Price is still a little silly - I haven't played many Japanese Fenders but it just seems like much.

Nice bass. Dig the P/J. Price is comparable to road worn jazz. MIJ stuff has a reputation for high quality, plus a premium for the limited run, I'd say it's a fair price. Even more so if it includes a case.

Anyway, one of Fender's more attractive offerings IMO.

Man, if that had a maple fretboard I'd be all over that! Love that color.

Has anyone picked one of these up yet? I was wondering how they played. Definitely cool (I'm a sucker for blocks and binding), but the price does seem a little high.

Looks like my bass:

Mine is an American Std body, with an AllParts neck, and Seymour duncans (PJ), what a great combination!

That bass looks great, but I paid less than that for mine :P

FWIW, Fender Japan makes some of the best instruments of the type you will find anywhere. Used to be all over eBay from US sellers - regret selling the new MIJ '62 RI I bought through eBay! $700 and terrific.
