"Do you happen to like any bass others on here seem to not like?"
Yes.
There is not one bass made that someone on this board won't dislike.
Doesn't matter the model, make or shape someone, somewhere will hate it and you'll love it.
By the way, if you're getting grief for love of Squier, I feel ya pain.

Who has time to keep track of the likes & dislikes of other people? Even if it really mattered (which it does not)?

I am a huge warwick fan, and I see warwick get its fair share of hate out there.....sorry, I just don't see it. Each one does exactly what I want it to, and does it superbly.

Some of my all time favorite basses are G3's, Rippers, Grabbers, T-40's, heck, I do tons of sessions on a First Act...a custom shop Dehlia, but you still gotta explain it over and over again

One of my old uprights got some interesting comments

My current main upright for that matter

I love the Mystic Blue color that Fender is offering on the Precision and Jazz, (and especially because they're both offered in a left handed version ), but it appears that the blue color has sent an amazing number of people into a suicidal spiral.

I play a Yamaha RBX375 - almost universally panned on TB, but what I feel is a great instrument.

I like my Gibson EB-1. Works very well in my jazz band setting. Dimarzio Model One pickup installed.

I agree completely! The Sterling should be more popular than a 'Ray. Lighter, extra fret, contoured heal, narrower nut like a Jazz Bass, 3 pickup options.................try to sell one!!!!!! Ya almost have to give it away!

But they are a fantastic bass! Everything a 'Ray is and more!

I had a Mex-Fender 60s Classic Jazz that sounded better than the US Deluxes stocked at the store I was working for back in 2002. Sold her off eventually, it was a killer bass!

Rogue LX-405.

I bought it to test the transition from 4 to 5. I laced it w/ Roto 88s and relocated the bridge so I could get the intonation right. Then I got kind of superstitious, and couldn't replace it for years - it was my primary and I felt loyal to it.

I guess it also resonated with my anti-connoisseurship bias, as well as my self-identified mediocre musicianship: I'd much prefer to risk being somewhat limited by my gear than to be That Oblivious Guy who lacks the ear or fingers to milk the potential from the pricey toys.

I've got the Rodney Dangerfield of Gibsons - the short scale Thunderbird. Gibson afficiandos don't know what to make of it. TBirds are NOT supposed to be short scale. Like the red headed stepchild they won't look directly at it, hoping it will just go away. Anyway, I love it.

The Steinberger XL2 is probably the least liked bass that I did like. Its only flaws are a) the bridge PU is too close to the bridge and b) it's not manufactured anymore.

I got to borrow one for a while when I was gigging and it was unbelievable in a live setting. Had this really powerful gunshot-like sound when plucked near the bridge.

Also, because it was completely made of plastic/composite, it had utterly no dead spots on the neck at all. And the relief was always perfect and never needed adjustment (in fact I don't recall it even could be adjusted).

Were it not for the bridge pickup placement, I'd try to find a fretless model.

Then my Fender Reverse Jag is the Russell Brand. Abrasive, polarizing, one trick pony... but it's a good trick.

It does exist. It's called the Musicvox Space Ranger, and is made in a bass version, as well as a guitar and an 12-string. A famous Belgian Band, "The Clement Peerens Explosition" uses them, as a gimmick, since the entire band is a gimmick (a bit like Spinal Tap, but even more messed up!)...

It's a limited run model, not sure how many actually were made. Has a set neck and headstock more akin to the Studio model than the traditional Tbird although the pickups are the same. The finish is matt and very thin with no grain filler. It gives the impression it will naturally relic beautifully in a few years. The sound has that lovely low-mid growl Tbirds are known for while imparting a bit of tubbyness from the short scale. A winner in my book but many don't agree.
