I"ve also had a Cirrus 4 , a TL-5 with the VFL pickups and a Foundation 5 . All were great but the TL-5 is my favorite next to the Millennium 5s , almost a dead heat . I've had four Millennium 5's and they've been the most consistantly good sounding basses live I've had the past twenty years besides playing great .

I think I would rank my G-V after my Mill 5 and Cirrus, and the TL after that. I really liked the G-V neck and it was lighter than the TL.
The jury's still out on the B Quad 5 playability. But, of all my Peavey 4s, the B Quad 4 was absolutely my favorite! The neck was awesome. The action super-duper low. The tone - well, the tone was great with the magnetics, but when you added in the sound from the piezos, it was just supreme.

P-bass mood--Fury
J-bass mood--Foundation
I will have to reserve judgment until I get more experienced. All I know for sure is that I know longer feel badly about walking out of any bass shop without a new bass. Even if I could get a Cirrus, but at the cost of displacing one of the basses I already own...not sure I could do it. Maybe the TBC, and I really like that bass. The Peaveys both stay.

Today I played a 4 string Millennium BXP and was blown away by how well it played and sounded. For less than $250 it's remarkable.

I think it is the playable factor for me. It has a fast neck, has a great sound. I love the Foundation i just picked up but just keep going back to the Fury. I am not a big fan of the bridge pickup so the Foundation has been a challenge.
I will be the proud owner of a G bass soon so this is subject to change in the near future. Besides the neck the fact that is has just one pup is huge for me.

Gotta say this is one of the nicest-playing, best sounding basses I've ever owned. The pickups as I understand it were Bartolini designed (perhaps manufactured as well??) and the 17" radius fretboard combined with the 1.5" nut make for an extremely fast neck. I had the opportunity last year to pick up a fretless model and didn't. Kicking myself for not pulling the trigger on it now.
So what about you? For those who own multiple Peavey basses, which model stands out the most and why? | If you ever feel the need to part with one of those Palladiums, I'd find a way to raise the cash. I sooo miss my old one.. Natural finish like the one on the left.

| | | | I had a T40, hated it. Now I have a Foundation 2000 5 string and I love it. I'm not sure but I think it differs from the regular Foundations by having a Millennium shaped body and the neck pickup is farther from the bridge. |

As opposed to the Super Ferrites on the earlier models. |

It is overpriced though, and my "needless purchase" fund is at $0 for a the next month or so.
Hopefully he'll keep it overpriced until then.

| | Half Hip, Half Hick | | Join Date: Jan 2000 Location: Tennessee | | | I've had fretted and fretless soapbar Foundations, a Fury, Super Ferrite Foundation, and an Axcellerator 4. I'd say favorite was the Axcellerator, which I traded in a moment of insanity, closely followed by the Super Ferrite Foundation, which I currently own.
As to why, the Axcellerator had it all, the feel, light, good sound, and versatile. The Super Ferrite foundation is loved because it is the only two pickup jazz-esque bass that has come close to scratching the itch of missing my most beloved '65 Fender Jazz, which I gave up in the early 70's when I quit playing for many years.
