Amazing sound
perfect neck
1979 pickups (better than the later ones)
sunburst finish
forearm contour and tummy cut (not available in 79)
and only 9.8 pounds. (unheard of for a t40) | I saw your thread on that, really nice work. I'm guessing you added the inlays?

I'd forgotten that the newer post Super Ferrite pickups were called that. Thanks.

I have been thinking of buying a budget bass (less than $200) & have looked at SX and Xavier & read reviews of them here on TB and both seem to get mostly positive reviews. The problem is that I am having a hard time justifying laying down $200 on a "new" bass that is not a MIA product when I could find a used MIA Peavey for around the same price. I guess that since I got my '89 Foundation in January I just can't fight the urge to stick with Peavey's, even if it means buying and using nothing but used gear. Am I alone in this thought

I've had several SX basses (Douglas, Brice, etc.) and I liked them, but I wouldn't swap any of my Peaveys for any of the SX models I've owned. They were fine; the Peaveys are great.

Assuming you and I are looking at the same bass, I would ask what that gold metal piece is on the headstock. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
