Valenti #152: hollow JJ5

It's not in my hands, yet, but, it sure looks great.
Nord single coils, Sadowsky preamp, ash hollowbody, maple neck.

Are you sticking with no pickguard, or is the control plate there just so it's an option? Great looking bass!

+1 Looking forward to Chef's review.

I've played probably five different Valenti basses over the past few years...each one was fantastic.

Hey man what's the reasoning behind having a hollow body electric? Just wondering. Congratulations on a beautiful bass by the way!

1) I just dig the vibe
2) I can't tell you what it does sonically, compared to a same spec solid body, as it's not here yet. I presume it "rounds it off a bit."

Right on. Please give us your thoughts on it when you get it. A friend of mine has a couple of these and the one I played sounded and felt great. And, the price is right too... Again, congrats on the new axe...

I initially spec'd a tort guard.
Nino sent me several photos of wood choices for both the top, and the body proper.
I made my choices, but, I didn't think the grain was gonna look as good as it came out....so I dropped the pickguard.
