value of a lefty 1967 EB2 single pickup bass?

New to the forum, was wondering if anyone had ideas on the value of a single pickup 1967 Gibson lefty EB2 bass, red? Also have a correct Gibson case with it.

Speaking as a lefty, I'd guess sh*tloads of $$.

LOL I've never had it appraised, figured a forum would have the best feel for the price. Lacquer has the fine cracking that I've seen on most 60s' Gibson guitars.

John I know you can have it appraised - one place that will do it is Gruhn Guitars < Google them. They need Photos and details on the instrument and I believe they charge $50 to do the appraisal - I am sure there are others that will as well.

eBay is a good place to check to see what similar models are selling for of the same Vintage.

Yeah and there's a place by me on Lincoln Ave that I think does appraisals too. Just wanted to see what folks have seen recently for prices. I bought mine about 14 years ago. I'll have to find my pics.

A regular clean righty is used to be around $1200, but lately them seem to be priced around $2,000+ for single pickup version, depending on condition & color. Rarer version, EB-2 C's have been priced closer to $3000, but those are dealer prices, not what has been sold on Ebay.

Say what you will about Gibsons, but they actually CONTINUALLY go up in value, if bought at a reasonable price.

Yeah I've been told over the phone $2,000 - $2,500 a few times, but I have not seen one sell for a long time so I'm thinking more. I'm mostly just curious as it's cool looking to have.

Appraisals should be free. Call any good shop and they can look up in the vintage guide and get you set. Call Dave at Killer Vintage(Saint Louis,MO) and he'll get you set up.

I can appraise it; it doesn't exist so it is worth nothing.

I totally forgot about this thread from 4 years ago.

I had someone decipher the tag, came out as a 1969 model:

Had someone back in 1994 make me a pick guard, Pete Moreno in MI?, but I didn't specify single pick-up. He's still alive, he said he could make me another:

No I decided to keep it. I still need to get the correct pick guard for it.
