I've had this Vigier as my main bas for about 6 years now. It's fantastic, and feels perfect. Nothing can come close to such a low and buzz free action.
Recently I added the 'up' and 'down' switches to the bass (actually a friend installed them) as the Roland V-bass is something I have also been using for several years.
Quick specs:
Vigier Passion series II 1988
Carbon neck, no truss rod
Marleaux pre-amp 3 band EQ
Basstec humbucker pickups
Roland GK 13 pin and standard 1/4" outputs
Roland GK assignable control knob and up/down buttons
Active/passive switch Vigier Passion GK by chiscocks, on Flickr Vigier Passion GK by chiscocks, on Flickr
Cheers

The Vigier is looking great - I have just had another vintage 80s Passion in my shop - I now have three of them, possibly the world's biggest collection outside of Nick Smith of course ;-) http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_gui...ion_White.html

Mr Smith has put a hold on the White bass and is coming in on Monday. The early black basses are very cool indeed and both in remarkable condition. The Heads do look a little wider than the current models.

Gotcha - I think you are right, the new Arpege looks more like the older Passion.
