Vintage Modified Pickguard?

Picked up a Squire VM Precision yesterday, and I love it. However, I hate the black pickguard. Now I read that standard aftermarket Fender pickguards won't fit it.

Could I do some slight sanding/drilling to make it fit, or is it bigger than I am thinking? Looking for personal experiences here.

Thanks in advance...

I am going to post something that does absolutely nothing to help reply to your question...

I am also looking for a white pearl pickguard for a VM Jaguar standard (to match the block inlays). But I am looking for this in Europe, which seems to be a major problem as I canīt even find one in the U.S.!!

I join your cry of...

I was able to swap pickguards from my vm jazz to a MIM jazz to a USA mass and they all fit exactly! Can't in aging the p bass is any different.

You could always send a tracing of your pickguard, or the pickguard itself, to a company like greasygroove.com and they will make one for you.
