I just checked and found out I live an hour drive away from the workshop. My pre-loved Wal works dandy but has a bent volume pot and would also look better for some new knobs. Could use a lacquer repair on the head. I might use it as an excuse to drop in.
Even the wife is interested in a trip to the promised land where the magic happens. And the guy who drums with me would like to think it's a workplace where they bring their pet dog in to work with them. |

A pic with Lawrence Cottle showing it.

I'm curious, does Paul keep those older style paddle style headstock necks thats to the far right for orders or are they historical relics too.

Contact your local hardware store
Also I would imagine Paul will sell you some new ones...he has shipped parts to me

I see there's a shedua 4 with gold hardware available at The Gallery in London. I don't think the price is too bad at all considering dealers tend to be more proud than that. http://www.thebassgallery.com/produc...pe=Bass Guitar
They also have a late Pro I passive in a nice sunburst over birdseye, but to me priced a little proud. And of course that sixer is still there. |

I have no experience with Wal Basses whatsoever, however, there is a 1985 Mk1 fretless for sale used in my area.
pics here: http://www.duli.at/bass/bass/Seiten/...less_1985.html
asking price is 2500€, which would translate to about 3300$
Is this an ok price ? What are some pointers on spotting a fake Wal ?
Thanks in Advance,
Chris |

But there aren't any Fake Wals. Only fake sellers. So you have to beware if you have never heard of the seller, ask questions and request pictures of details that only a Wal owner would know.

Yes, I wouldn't buy it over the internet, the seller lives in the same city so I would check it out in person.
Anything I should be careful about in terms of wear and tear on a close to 20 year old instrument, or Wal specifically ?
Thanks,
Chris

Usually on Wals this old, the age may show in the electronics: scratchy pots, and output jacks that tend to cut-out when wiggled.
It looks like it's in nice condition, and a mega plus that the original brown fiberglass case is included. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
