From the sound of it he's got the whole thing nailed down in terms of being faithful to the original design ....and then brought an extra level of finishing to the operation. Is he employing other luthiers to help or is it just him?

It`s a real honor.
Been drooling over this thread for such a long time.

I`m fortunate enough to have good friends who helped me
to get it.

Paul employs a few folks part time for specific tasks that he trusts theirs skills at and is comfortable delegating. He does most of what you would consider luthier work himself.

Paul worked at Electric Wood for years with Pete. Not sure of his starting date, but I believe it was at least in the early 90s.

If it helps.... Paul employs a few guys for "minor" works (bridge polishing/ assemblying, shipping....), but when it comes to luthiery it's a one man operation! Everything from cutting, glueing, shaping, finishing is done by The Man himself.
Back in Nov. 2010, when I went to the workshop to order my mkII, Paul was applying (spraying) high gloss finish to 2 (two!!) necks....

Paul is The Man!!!!!!
