Warmoth build - 30 or 32 inches

I want to build one.
I have normal 34 inch scale now.
My son has Ibanez Mikro like 28.6 inch scale.

Honestly the Ibanez Mikro is a rare gem - plays great.

So I am thinking I want to build a Warmoth short scale bass but which scale - 30 or 32 inches?

That's one of those things that's entirely a personal choice IMO.

You've played a 34" and a Mikro, what about any other scale lengths? I've toyed around on the Warmoth site and whatever I wanted ended up costing a lot, but probably well worth it. I would have to try other lengths if I already hadn't before I spent that much on a bass.

Try to figure out what feels right to you by playing shortys and medium scales at stores. I did and decided I prefer 32s because, well, just because. I now own one 30, a few 34s, and a bunch of 32s (one for sale in the classifieds) and I prefer the 32s over the rest. YMMV.

My Ibanez AEB5E acoustic is 32" and I'm really enjoying it. I think my next electric could very well be a 32". But again, it's up to you.
