I'm also interested in the Warmoth shortscales and called them a couple of weeks ago and was told they won't be available until mid 2010.

Until then I'll make do with my P and J shortscale experimentals using Mustang RI and Bronco necks.

I'm anxiously awaiting them, too! Mid 2010 is painful, especially when they've already posted pix of them!

Sorry guys, I don't have an official release date. All the design and testing is done. I assembled the prototypes and they're pretty sweet.

If you're really interested, email sales@warmoth.com and let them know you're ready to buy. The sales/web side of the house needs to get their part done. (And that includes me too....)

I did the same a while ago and got the same polite email response. I also would pull the trigger tomorrow if given the chance!

Woot Woot!

My next purchase is a Squier Bronco and when I'll need a high end bass I'll seek warmoth. Especially if the Short scale necks are thin! If they aren't, well, I'll give them a shot anyways.

Neither - it's based on a real Fender MIJ 32" scale Jbass, which is like a downsized vintage J with a smaller bulge where the controls go. We've also done a short scale Z bass, and soon there will be a short scale G4 in double and single cutaway versions. For the singlecut G4, think Rob Allen Mouse-ish.
From the forum.

One short scale body, two interchangeable necks, one 30" and one 32" scale.

I really liked the look of the 32" Jazz on the link above. If you offer those (or 5 string 32" scales), I'd be first in the queue!
