Sign in to disble this ad
Guys: I'm a new member. Just started playing again after almost 20 years. I"ve just come across a Warwick Corvette Stardard 6 String, Bolt on Neck, in Mint Condition. I haven't been involved in this in so long. What is your opinion on these ? Don't know if its German made, though. Not happy about a Bolt on Neck, but I'll ned your imput. BTW I have an offer on the table for 1000.00. I countered with 850.00, I think I got a deal.. just need your opinion.

Do you have any pics of this bass? If it is a German 'vette standard, or even if it is the newer Korean made Pro Series, $850 is an alright price, that is if the bass is in really good condition. Check the serial number. The last 2 numbers dictate the year of manufacture (K-xxxx-08 for 2008, for example). I'm not completely sure of the exact year, but I wanna say they started making the 'vette standards as the Pro Series in Korea in '08 or '09. Also if the neck is Ovangkol with Ekanga stringers, it's definitely a Pro Series. The Corvette Standard was basically Warwick's low-end bass before they came out with the RockBass series, however the craftsmanship and materials used were very solid. I've played on a few of them and they have good playability and a good tone to them, maybe not as good as say a Corvette FNA Jazzman or Corvette $$, but still pretty decent.

Cool. We seem to have a few similarities. I've also been absent from playing music for awhile. It's been about 12 years since my last jam or performance. In August, I purchased a Warwick Thumb BO 6. I really enjoy this instrument.

A '99 Warwick should still be decent. Warwicks are built sturdy. They are made to last. I think $850 is a good deal for a German-made Corvette 6.
