Warwick Corvette ad

I just saw a Craig's List ad for a Warwick Corvette (model unspecified) for $550

Warwick Corvette 5 string Bass

First thing I noticed is that the photo has a one piece bridge and I've never seen a Corvette like that. I emailed the guy, which led to a phone conversation. He said it was the wrong photo and that it does in fact have a two piece bridge. He didn't know the exact model, but did give me a serial number:

rbj903215-09

Provided he a) doesn't want me to paypal him in advance or b) ship it to me from Guatamala... and provided I get to see, touch and play it... Should I make the guy an offer?

I already feel pretty skeptical about the whole thing. I was just wondering if the serial number might be a source of reassurance. Is there any way to look this up, get a model and therefore some idea of its value?

Rockbass. Cheaper Warwicks but still ok. Overpriced imo. My german built was 500. Offer 350-400 depending on condition.
Newer have 2 piece bridges. But this is an 2009 model, October i think; with one piece. It can be upgraded.

If your skeptical then don't bother. They pop up enough in the classifieds here.

Yeah, I think I may just pass on this one. Too weird. I'd love to get myself an entry level Warwick or a mid-level Ibanez, but I'm not prepared to take risks to do so.
