Hey talkbass, i was looking at these 2 warwick corvette fretless basses and I wanted to know what the difference was between the 2. If they were both going for the same price what would be the better model and why?

Only dif I can see are wood. In which case for me, would be which is lighter? Neither one is gonna be better than the other, they're both corevette, both fretless, and both have the same electronics and hardware.

Agreed - they're the exact same thing. Which one feels better in your hands? Do you like the black knobs better (not that they're hard or expensive to change), or perhaps the look of one of them over the other? Personally, I really like the grain of the first one better, so if it felt and sounded good I'd go with that one (based on these pictures).

As several other have said, they are the same model. I like the grain in #1 much better so I would pick that. I am only basing this on looks alone so maybe #2 would play much better, in which case I would pick #2. Looks < playability IMO.

Thanks guys, I definetely agree about the first one, the grain is gorgeous and since I now know they are both the same I'll probably go with that one. Another thing though that the pic doesn't show is that the fretboard on the first bass is a little worn, as in faded, is that fixable?

Yeah, you can get ebony fretboard paint from Stewmac, it'll touch up nice. I do like the 1st one better, by the way.

the difference?

not much like they said. same model same guts. The 2nd one looks custom body shape???? Or is that the case padding doing that LOL!!

I like the grain on the top one, give it a waxing and it'll come out nice. BUT looking closer #1 looks more worn, there looks like a few faded spots on the body, I'm wondering if it's EVER been waxed. Unless i'ts the flash of the camera...

#2's body looks in better shape but doesn't have the snazzy grain. #2 looks new to me.

I dig my Corvette, its like a piece of furniture..solid.
