warwick corvette VS Rickenbacker Usa Series 4003

Hello!!!

I'm new in the forum, I'm from mexico city,

What do you think about this deal?

I have a Warwick Corvette standard from 1999, I'd update it with a EMG active pickups, but someone here in mexico sells a Rickenbacker Bass Usa Series 4003, Serial number UI3102, I think it's 1982, so...do you think it's a good deal to get a ricken ? or my warwick it's better? I'm in love of the sound of both basses, for this reason I don't know what I need to do!!! Here is the pic...it's in spanish but maybe can help...

The corvette is a good bass so you don`t really need to get the Rick. That said, if the Rick is a good price and you are ok with the paint change and pickups then it might not hurt to pick it up.

I wish I remembered my Spanish from high school. I would love to make communicating with you easier if I could

Claro, hombre.

It would be a good trade for me, but I prefer a Ric to a Warwick.

You really need to play and listen, then decide.

Bueno suerte!

I think the warwicks are better and nicer basses.

I used to own a '98 corvette passive with "EMG" pups. Man, that bass sounds great. I think you're fine with corvette.

If you haven't ever wanted a Ric before, then it's probably not the right time to trade, especially if you like the Corvette.

$1350 is too much for a 4003 without the original finish and pickup.

I have both.

1994 Corvette Proline
1992 Rick 4003 fireglow

different animals for sure. The Warwick plays like butter, I would take it over a Rick in a heartbeat, playability-wise.

I got the Warwick in '96 and it was my main bass for 10 years, as soon as I picked it up. It played so well, so far above anything I had owned prior. I still have it.

w/Ricks you pretty much pay for the name, although the name does = good quality. I have the seymore duncan replacements in the neck/bridge and it does sound really good. The playability of the Rick (it's my 2nd) is mainly what I've struggled with cos I'm mainly a finger player.

The D & G strings do come thru alot more on the Rick than the Wick. They seem to be play thin on the wick, but maybe that's just a lack of eq-ing.
