| | | | Warwick Fretless Fingerboard...Wenge or Ebony?

I have my eye on a Warwick Corvette Standard Fretless. I'd prefer to have an ebony fingerboard. I've noticed many of these basses that have sold on Talkbass and Craigslist have claimed to have either wenge or ebony.
Now here's the confusing part, Warwick's website only mentions wenge for the fingerboard of the Corvette Standard fretless. So how do I determine if I'm buying one with ebony when ebony doesn't seem to exist? |

| | | I've included some links that show what I'm talking about when it comes to determining whether a Warwick Corvette Standard Fretless has a wenge or ebony fingerboard.
In this link, CheBass88 is selling the above mentioned bass. He indicates that it has an ebony fingerboard. FS 1998 Warwick Corvette Standard Fretless (with goodies)
In this link, cheezewiz is selling one with a wenge fingerboard. To me it looks the same as the above link that supposedly has an ebony board. Warwick Corvette Standard Fretless, priced to move!
So are these both ebony or wenge or one of each? I've run into the same problem with wood fingerboard identification on Craigslist. Someone will say their's has ebony and another will say their's has wenge on the fretless. Oh man |
