Warwick - Which One Would You Buy

Sign in to disble this ad
Both Prolines

Bass A
About 5 years old. ocean blue, missing a knob, otherwise good condition

Bass B
93 model. Natural. $175 (correction, Bass A came down in price so its about $215) more than bass A. Original PUs were taken out and is now active only with Duncans.

Which one is the better deal?

A knob is pretty easy (and cheap) to replace. Anything else "wrong" with bass A?

no, I just don't think they know the value of it. They want $425 + tax. The 93 is $640 + tax. I also noticed that B doesn't have recessed strap locks. Forgot to mention the salesperson said those were upgraded too. I like the natural better than the blue and fell of ovangko better than wenge but I like the medium size necks on older W's and the chrome hardware better than the gold. But I'm also a stickler for keeping things original. If he had the original PUPs with the duncans I would like it better.

Either one is a smokin' deal IMO, I would take the one with stock electronics and the missing knob unless you already know that you like the Basslines pickups that are in option B. You can then take the savings and upgrade the pickups to whatever you want, if you still feel the need to do so. But, then, I like ocean blue Warwicks.

I found another. 96. Has seymor duncans and black hardware. Natural and black is exactly what I'd do. But could this be stock?

All early corvette I played were great basses.
And 99% you'd get the wengé neck, which is enough a good reason for paying more

HHMM. The W employee on the W boards said that in 96 SD's were only offered on 6 string basses. What to do. I'm leaning toward the 96 as it is the color combination I want. But not being all original erks me.

If this is your first Warwick, and you want THE Warwick sound, you want the one with the MEC pickups and preamp.

My two cents worth....

Its not, I've had 1,3,4, yep 4. And I'm actually not looking for the W sound.
