Warwick Problem

Sign in to disble this ad
Had Dimarzio Ultra J's put in my Warwick Corvette 5 passive, and am having a weird problem. When I slam the A string (which I don't do a lot) I get a distorted fart-out. Doesn't happen on any other string, just the A. Checked my amp setting - all is good.

Anyone have any input?

Tks.

Have you tried lowering the pickups? It's possible that the pole pieces are set up for a smaller radiused fingerboard - 'Wick 5s have VERY flat fingerboards (26" IIRC) - and so the A pole would end up closer to the strings than the other poles.

Also, is it both pickups that do it, or just one?

I have a similar problem with a rockbass but im pretty sure it down to a bad repair job done after even worse treatment from me.(by the time i brought i for repair nearly all the electronics were falling out)

Everything i play on that bass sounds distorted, not just the A.
