Warwick Thumb BO5 Broadneck vs Thumb BO6 standard

Hello friends,

First of all let me tell you that I am a poor lefty who cannot try any of these basses, so I will buy either one just based on advice/feeling/emotion.

I am the proud owner of a Thumb NT4 but have always loved the looks and capabilities of the 5 string NT, but itīs too much money.

I have come across a lefty Thumb BO5 BROADNECK with a fairly good price and brand new.

But searching a little more I have also come across a BO6 with the standard neck which is from 1999 but like new, comes with a flightcase and reminds me a little more to the NT than the broadneck due to the fact that the body is from bubinga (ovangkol in the 5) and I think the neck is wenge.

I have no experience with 5 or 6 string basses, have always played 4 string. I had a 5 string for a while but sold it fast to get my beloved thumb 4nt so I will be starting from zero with either one.

I like to slap a lot, but do not intend to use the 5 or 6 as a slapping machine (thatīs the 4īs job) but I think the new bass will be slapped sometimes.

Donīt know what to do. The 6 is a little cheaper and comes with a flight case, but maybe the neck is too broad (I have small hands) or/and the strings are too closed for occasional slapping...maybe the neck of the broadneck is again too broad for my small hands although easier to slap due to the 20mm string spacing....

I would be very, very thankful if you share your thoughts/experiences with me please.

Cheers from Madrid and sorry for the extra long post!
