WARWICK THUMB BOLT-ON...quick question

Sign in to disble this ad
i was talking in another thread the other day, and this got me curious.

my son has the use of a Warwick Thumb bolt-on bass from my friend Dan.

the serial number is: J-0953B4-02 as found on the back of the headstock

does this mean the bass was made in 2002?

thanks,

The last two numbers are indeed the year it was made.

JP;

tried, but the site is f**ked up. can't get it to respond to my attempts to scroll down.

anyway, i was told the first or last 2 numbers of every serial number were the year... the guy didn't remember which. in this case 02. is that not true and does that not mean 2002?

The W serial works like this: MONTH (the letter) - FACTORY MODEL NUMBER - YEAR (the last 2 digits). The bass in question was made in October 2002.

Wow, I didn't know this. Cool to discover my 6 fretless thumb bolt-on is from may 1994. Thanks!
