Warwick Thumb Proline....?

when did this happen?
New for '11?
Anyone play it?
Does it sound like the original?
Could this mean I might be able to afford one?

I'm not to crazy on the High Polish finish....I'd like to see them in Satin. The Nirvana Black Stain might look wicked, though.

They're new; MIK (like the Corvette Pro). It has a maple neck. The available finishes are: High Polish and Stain High Polish (Natural HP, Black HP and Nirvana Black St HP). Other than that, we need to wait until these start showing up in stores.

If their less then $1200, I'll be interested. When they get on the used market it will be time to jump

There are a few of them on ebay lately...I'm starting to really GAS for the 6 for $1500, not too bad, actually.

These are the Warwick Pro-Series Thumb. The Pro-Series is hand-crafted by Warwick-standards in Korea, under the quality control of Warwick Germany. They are available and in-stores now. Please let me know if you've got any questions or if I can assist you in any way. Thanks!

For me, a thumb bass shouldn't have a maple neck like that. I like my Warwicks Made in Germany

A used bolt on thumb can be had all day for under 1200. Why not go that route. Heck I got my nt for less

I've got one of these, had it for about six months, rehearsed with it, etc. Sounds great, sounds like a Thumb with the classic growl, flexible sounds, and it's very nice to play (though factory setup QC seems to suck because the setup was just bad out of the box). After a fair bit of setup work on my part it's definitely one of the most comfortable bases I've ever played, and I am very picky when it comes to setups. It's also really solid and well put together, which are definitely big factors for me.

Anything else you wanna know about 'em? (that is, from a real owner and not some marketing guy)

Please tell me where. I have been looking for a long time, 1500 seem to be the bottom of price range.

Yea, there is some, but it's no more than any other Thumb I've ever tried. It may even be just a tiny bit less because Maple is very slightly lighter than Ovankol, and the bodies of the Pro Series are still made out of Ovankol. Then again, they're all still hardwoods so maybe any difference is indiscernable. Either way, it's nothing a wide leather strap won't fix, as I've found is generally the case with all neck-dive.

Also, if what was written above is true, could someone please show me where a 2nd-hand NT Thumb can be had for under $1200, while still in good condition? Even though I'm sticking to my "no more gear till I get professional" pact...
