Warwick Thumb P'up Rattle. Help!

Sign in to disble this ad
I play a Bolt-on Warwick Thumb. When i tap the pickup itself theres a rattle. After reading a few TB threads on the topic, it seems thats pretty common with the warwick p'ups. It becomes an issue when I play on my low B and have my fingers ride off and land on the pickup. It seemed like the screws on the pickups themselves were loose, so I went ahead and tightened em down. Enough so that they're not loose, but not buried into the body too far.

But it still rattles! Sounds like a loose screw. Anyone have this with their Warwick? Is it something I can fix?

You can probably fix it, but the only way to find out is to try! Take it out and see what's rattling. Keep in mind that Warwicks are different from most basses in that the screws don't go down into the wood...they go down into brass inserts that are sunk into the wood (I don't understand why everybody doesn't do this) so the screws may seem loose compared to a Fender or something like that.
