Warwick Vampyre Help

hello everybody. i recently aquired myself a slightly used Warwick Vampyre and i love this thing. it sounds and plays great and everything was going fine until i began reading up a little more on the Vampyres and somewhere along the way ive read a lot about how they are active/passive and mine does say 2 band eq on it but it works just fine in the position it is set in now but as i aproach the middle the soun fades until it hits the middle and it goes off completely. then as i continue the full rotation to the other side it doesnt come back until i return it to the other side. ive tried adjusting the volume and bass levels and all that on the bass electronics and it doesnt change anything. if it is active and passive then the active side of it works bevause the pickups work just fine until i remove the power source (internal 9v battery) and when i put it back it works. is there anybody out there who has any experience with one of these? i have a local guy who does bass and guitar work i can take it to if it is something that is actually messed up but i don want to run down there and waste his and my own time and end up just making a fool out of myself like i likely am now. im sorry for posting on something like this i was just thinking maybe it couldnt hurt to put my problem out there.. thank you for your time Click image for larger version
