Washburn Explorer?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was at a pawn shop and I saw an explorer that was by washburn, four strings, looked fairly old, three knobs, two J looking pickups, and 24 frets(I think). It was 300 bucks. Does anyone have any info on it? Good bass/worth it?

Chunky P style-ish neck, rosewood fingerboard, the inlays were spiders for the first 4 or 5, headstock was black as well as the body and knobs, jack was on the side, anybody have any ideas?

Hi,

Thought I would defibrulate this thread as I may have an answer of some sort.

A friend of mine way back had a Washburn bass with an explorer shaped body. If I recall correctly I think it had one P and one J style pickup and 4 knobs instead of 2 J's and 3 knobs, though.

A lot like this one in fact: Bass Guitar Repairs London: Vintage Washburn B-20 Bass « Graham Parker Luthier

Except that it was white (well, kind of cream coloured due to age).

I believe the model is a Washburn B-20.

There is a bit of discussion about one here: Any info on this Washburn b-20 matsumoku design?
