Stacatto and I have been PM'ing back and forth for a while talking about how much of a hidden gem that the T-24 is. Does anyone else own one or have experience with them? Pros and cons are very much welcome, although I'm sure I don't have to say that

I liked the one I played quite a bit! It sounded good and I like the looks.

I own the taurus 5 neck thru and It is solid. As for cons, it would be nicer to go to active pickups to brighten up the sound a bit. I threw on some Sadowsky stainless steel strings and it made the bass sing.

Hi.

I have one.

When I bought it, it already had a busted truss rod hex slot and a cracked neck as a result.

I did try it out with several amps before starting the repair (still on the back burner ). for some reason the pickups didn't work well with tube amps, but with SS the bass sounded fine. Not a real problem though, J-PU's are easy to replace.

The body is way too small for me and looks like a toy on a 100Kg 175cm guy. the upper horn isn't to my liking either.

When I eventually replace the FB, it'll most probably recieve a fanned one.

I'd probably buy another damaged one if given a chance.

Regards
Sam

Do you still like the stainless strings? I'm up for a set and thought about trying something new. What gauge did you go with?

I had a T24 years ago. Solid bass, I couldn't quite get the sound I wanted since the pickups are oddball sizes and not standard jazz size, but Washburn customer service is great. The bass is also very light so it doesn't hurt your back if you're playing it for a long time.
