Washburn wb-600 vs Fender Bass VI

I've got an opportunity to pickup a washburn wb-600 for about $400. I'm a big fan of late 80s Cure and I know Robert Smith played a Bass VI back in the day. Anyone know how the Washburn compares sonically to the Bass VI? The closest I've come to this kind of bass/guitar is my '04 Baritone Jag...
