Question Washburn xb-600 vs Fender Bass VI

**** Sorry, this is a double post. I thought the first post didn't make it through somehow, but I just noticed it's already been bumped to the second page. My mistake. Apologies to everyone and to the mods - please feel free to delete this post.

I'm a huge fan of late 80s Cure. I know Robert Smith Played a Bass VI back in the day and today I came across an opportunity to pick up a Washburn xb-600 for about $400. How do these two basses compare, tonally? I'm primarily a guitar player and the closest I've come to these tones is my '06 Baritone Jag. Any thoughts or opinions on the Washburn would be appreciated.

I played the Washburn XB600 a great deal back in the 90's. My instrument happened to be quite a gem. I doubt we're comparing apples to apples with a baritone guitar tho.

Well, I just mentioned that I had a Baritone Jag as an aside. I'm trying to compare the Washburn to a Bass VI.. but I've never played a six string bass, hence my soliciting your opinions.

Apples and Oranges. The Bass VI is a short-scale (30" scale) six-string bass tuned E>e one octave below standard. The Bass VI uses string gauges .095>.026 and is primarily played with a pick due to narrow spacing between strings. While the Washburn is a regular 6 string bass. It's primarily used for funk and jazz/popping and slapping and played finger style. Tone is TOTALLY different. Not at all comparable in any way.
