wat up bass players

Which bass has a better sound a music man stingray or a fender jazz bass deluxe wat y'all think

tekdiver500ft 02-07-2013 04:25 AM

Whichever one sounds the way you want it to. There is no "better" sound. The sound that is "better" for you is the one that makes the sound in your head.

bassteban 02-07-2013 04:26 AM

There may be a *better for a given situation/genre/song* but otherwise it's just personal pref

Hobobob 02-07-2013 04:29 AM

Objectively, the Jazz bass. That is an indisputable fact, pure and simple. /thread.

wvbass 02-07-2013 04:33 AM

You joined TB just to ask that? Weird, non-flame-based troll thread?

LBassPlayer 02-07-2013 04:34 AM

I feel like the musicman has more punch than the fender both r great basses tho no doubt on that

Hobobob 02-07-2013 04:40 AM

Look, every serious answer is going to be this: Get what sounds best to you. There's a reason why there's so many different bass designs - there are millions of different bassists who like all kinds of different qualities in their instruments. Go to your local musical instrument store and try them both. Take home the one that speaks to you. And no matter what you choose, enjoy your new bass! :bassist:

Lighten up, dude- think about it: It's like asking which is better, blue or red.

Dredmahawkus 02-07-2013 04:41 AM

I have a couple jazz basses and a sterling. I think the jazz basses are a little fuller sounding and mix in with just about everything. The sterling is a bit thin yet stands out a little more for its unique sound. My sterling classic has this kinda echo reverb thing in the preamp that makes it stand out yet still feels real thin when playing along. Kinda hard to explain.

I don't think he was being malicious, just a response in jest.

Record tracks with both! See which one you like best in the mix. That's what I'd do.

I was referring to the *lol F off* bit. I'd say that was fairly malicious, should've quoted for clarity. I do not think the OP was trolling, BTW.

Edit: On topic, I don't even prefer one over the other all the time- my tastes tend to change over time.

That's what I was talking about too. I tell my buddies to F off all the time, laughing all the while. It's not meant to offend, not in the slightest: it's joking around. At least, I hope - I tend to give folks the benefit of the doubt on teh Interwebz.

Come on guys, it's too early for popcorn.

Well if you wanna play jazz, then you need a jazz bass. Deluxe jazz naturally requires a deluxe jazz bass. If you wanna be a music man, you gotta play a music man. It's common sense.

LBassPlayer 02-07-2013 05:03 AM

Lol ok
