SX Vintage Series 5-String Jazz Bass
I really like the SX basses. Great value for the money but $300??!!?? I don't think he's even modded it.

That particular bass has the old style headstock, which many prefer and is no longer available.
Yeah, seems kind of high to me, but if someone has GOT to have the old headstock, and can't find another one... well...
or more likely it just won't sell at $300.
It also says $300 OBO. Maybe the best offer will be $125

For all we know his wife/gf wants him to sell off his basses, and this is his way of avoiding that

I'm sure he doesn't really belive he'll actually get $300, hence the OBO. He'll get what he'll get and probably be quite happy about it.

With the change in CAD to US $ over the past few years, he may have bought it at close to that price. Knowing that it is no longer made, makes it a bit more valuable. The ONO means he is putting a high price on it because he knows he'll be talked down.
Seriously lads, grow up eh? Don't like the price? Don't buy it. Problem solved!

Just look at the overwhelming SURGE in popularity of SQUIER basses, both vintage modified and classic vibe.
This is a fact now - It is now COOL to own and play a SQUIER. I see more and more pro level bassists playing SQUIERs.
New, they are around $300 (Squier)
and the SX basses sound killer. The Chinese KNOW how to build basses now. We think of huts filled with kid labor. Just look at their structural engineering feats like bridges and skyscrapers. They are no dummies.
Just for the record, I am kind of a bass snob with my boutique, expensive basses, but I own a lot of SQUIER's and an SX.
I just used my Squier Classic Vibe on our latest CD. It sounds better than a "real" pbass, but for $238 clearance price, I scored.
I don't understand the "headstock-itis" that goes on in the bass world.
If it's a good bass, then it's good ...
