Weird Alembic-esque bass for parts... Worth it?

This caught my eye (I have nothing to do with the sale):

http://www.ebay.com/itm/171019247563...84.m1426.l2649

Looks like the craftsmanship is pretty tight. I wonder if the bridge and tail piece are actually Alembic? I dig the heart inlays though.

Not worth $250 IMO. Body seems useless, neck is pretty but nothing special playing-wise, and tuners and bridges you can get new from Hipshot.

I agree that the bridge does look to be a legit Alembic and those are the old style Schallers. Overall the craftsmanship looks pretty good - if you like the shape, it's well done.

Looks like neck-dive deluxe, unless the bridge weighs 7 lbs.!

Agrees looks not winner of neck dive award. Dont like the shape of body either. Probably knockoff bridge. I see no value in it myself.

the bridge and tailpiece appear to be genuine alembic components so IMO, that's the bulk of its value.

I just might have to hit that. Bridge and tailpiece are definitely Alembic. My guess is a never completed shop night project.

It would be pretty if it were, umm, ANY other shape. No thanks.

This was my first thought too. Everything else is kindling. If you want the bridge, fine. But at the very least, I'd band saw the "wings" off the body and start over.

It'd be easier to just strip it of hardware and build new.
